RadControls for WPF 版本更新 Q1 2010 (更新日期：6/8/2010)

Q1'10 release is focused on strengthening 3 main aspects of RadControls for WPF: ensuring first-class performance for all data-centric controls through UI and Data virtualization and other techniques, enhancing and polishing RadControls themes and providing highly advanced, enterprise-level features, especially for the data visualization controls.

Among the highlights of the release are:

  • RadMap
    The brand new RadMap for WPF visualizes rich geographical information, zooming and panning smoothly to any corner of the earth. If you want to give geographical context to your data – that’s easy. RadMap provides support out-of-the-box for BingMap and OpenStreetMap providers and allows you to overlay the imagery data with any element or shape either manually or through the built-in data binding functionality. The control supports items virtualization through web services to guarantee blazing fast performance.
  • RadBook
    A creative Book “page turning” component allows users to flip the Book’s pages as if they are browsing a real book. The flip animations are smooth for better user experience. You can embed other controls in RadBook for WPF, such as Treeview for navigation or even a Media Player. Furthermore the control can handle millions of pages through its UI Virtualization support.
  • RadTransitionControl CTP
    The control allows you to create transition animations that will appear upon changing the content of the control. It also provides an extended animation framework that can be used to customize the animations of existing controls, such as Menu, ComboBox, Docking, etc., allowing you to provide a richer look-and-feel to your application with minimal effort.
  • RadGridView
    RadGridView now provides a built-in paging UI, providing you with a navigation interface to page through your data quickly. The pager control itself can be used as a standalone component in order to provide paged data source to other data-bound controls.

    Improved virtualized scrolling - it now uses caching of cell’s content for even better performance. Thanks to the UI and Data Virtualization along with content recycling, RadGridView can handle 50 million cells with ease.

  • RadChart
    RadChart introduces advanced Data Virtualization and Data Sampling functionality that allows you to handle and visualize millions of data points in a matter of milliseconds. The control comes with a number of preset sampling functions but you can also specify your own in order to achieve the most accurate chart view for your application. With the new zooming and scrolling feature, your end-users can analyze large amounts of data with greater precision and speed. A new SmartLabels Positioning feature is added to the control to deal with the series item label overlapping in extremely busy charts; also a new chart type is introduced - Scatter Chart.
  • RadScheduler
    RadScheduler for WPF is the other control that introduces UI virtualization with this release. Not only you can work with a large number of appointments without any hits to performance, but you can drag and drop appointments between resource groups.
  • RadTreeView
    The improved UI virtualization of the control now allows you to handle/load millions of nodes in milliseconds.
  • Enhanced Themes
    All RadControls skins now get a major facelift for greater consistency and appeal across skin elements such as rows, buttons, headers, selected/disabled states, etc. Achieving these results required some changes in the XAML that led to some breaking changes in the themes. This would affect mostly the users who have already developed custom themes based on our last offering. We will assist all our customers in the migration process to make sure that everyone is satisfied with the end-result.
  • Visual Studio 2010 Support
    RadControls for WPF provide support for Visual Studio 2010 RC, offering toolbox support, property browsing and WYSIWYG preview for all controls. Telerik is working closely with Microsoft to ensure best practices are followed and that we provide the most complete design experience, allowing you to develop in Visual Studio 2010 and style your controls in Expression Blend with ease.
  • Visual Studio Extensions for RadControls for WPF
    Available with this release are Visual Studio Extensions for RadControls for WPF. This is an integration package that simplifies your WPF development. The Extensions automatically create, upgrade and configure your RadControls projects in seconds, eliminating the need to set any assembly references manually. The WPF Project configuration wizards automatically handle the dependencies between the assemblies.
  • XAML Optimizations
    Have you been frustrated by how many lines of XAML code it takes in order to create a template for a control? How about all the code on the back-end that really make the control work, or the memory being used for the number of objects to be created? By reducing visual elements in all Telerik RadControls for WPF templates, we have found a clean and elegant way to ensure better performance of your applications using RadControls.
