- Network discovery – accurate and fast
NetVision has a very advanced network scanner allowing you to discover all the hosts in your network. It also detects all routers and "goes through" them to scan all neighbor networks. It discovers all hosts and then scans for services and applications running on them, such as HTTP, FTP, mail & database servers, etc.When the detection process is finished, the program will create a network map, or a set of maps, of all detected IP networks. All networks will be created in a tree-like display indicating dependencies between them. - Network mapping & visualization
Discovered networks are presented on graphical, interactive maps (network mapping) that indicate the status of each node. You can quickly locate down nodes. All other performance problems are also graphically visualized on such maps. For example, you can view the most recent response time for every host, and the down period of the host. There is also a host info window that presents information about the host: status, charts, etc. - Host Monitoring
Using either TCP/IP, SNMP, or Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), NetVision constantly monitors critical network elements:
- Systems: Windows, Linux, Unix servers; routers, switches, VoIP, and firewalls.
- Host status – this is constantly monitored and stored in history, so you can track it on the chart.
- TCP/UDP services (HTTP, POP3,SMTP, FTP and 50 other popular predefined services). NetVision monitors their response time and the percentage of lost requests.

The mail server is one of the most critical systems for any company. NetVision not only checks whether mail services respond to simple requests. It also performs real test operations. The time required to log in and check for a mail list can be monitored and presented on a chart. NetVision can send test e-mails with SMTP, and log the time used in the operation.Whenever a mail server is experiencing any problems, you will be notified.Reporting & Performance visualization
NetVision provides real-time and historical charts for every monitored value, such as service response time or a counter. Such charts can be presented over any desired time range, so you can view every single value (on a 15-minute chart), or a wide, full-month report. The charts can easily be scrolled, so you have fast access to the historical data at any time. Both real-time and historical data are presented on the same chart, so you do not have to generate any reports to see trends.Alerting
You can define a wide range of events when an alert should be raised. Events may be defined based on any monitored parameter: host or service down, service response slowdown, Windows/SNMP performance counter going out of range, slow page load or wrong page content, e-mail server problems while sending/receiving e-mails, MS SQL Server problem, and much more. Agentless
NetVision monitors the network without any agents, so there’s nothing to install on nodes that need monitoring. No agents to install, maintain or update in order to scan and monitor your network. Environmental monitoring
If you would like to monitor your production processes or a server room for temperature or humidity, all that is required is to plug a probe into your network. NetVision will read that probe continually and send you an alert in case of any problems. You will be also able to see the value of that parameter on the chart in real time. You can monitor temperature (from -139°F / -95°C), humidity, flood, fire, voltage etc. This ensures that your production processes or server room will not be exposed to the risks of improper operating conditions.
